USC Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Services

Extending Mental Health Support for USC Students

At the USC Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Services (PBHS) clinic, we understand the wide range of challenges that may impact our students’ mental health as they navigate life on campus.

Whether you need support with managing anxiety, depression or another diagnosis, our team of specialists is dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate psychiatric care, therapy and case management services. Our clinic, which is staffed by culturally informed and diverse faculty, offers greater access to intermediate and long-term, solution-focused, evidence-based care for more complex conditions.

How to Receive Care at Our Clinic

Access to our clinic’s psychiatric medical care and counseling services is available through a referral process and will require medical insurance verification. Most students are referred to our clinic by their care team at USC Student Health, as well as other organizations on campus. The following insurance information is important to know.

USC Student Health Insurance Plan (Provided Through Aetna)

An initial evaluation and referral by USC Student Health is required. The $20 copay for in-network specialty care has been waived until January 2021.

Insurance Other Than USC Student Health Insurance Plan

You can self-refer to our clinic or obtain a referral from USC Student Health. The cost of care will vary, depending on each health insurance plan.

Medi-Cal

Currently, recipients of Medi-Cal are not covered for care; however, USC Student Health can connect students with Medi-Cal providers. Students with Medi-Cal can also receive care through USC Student Health’s counseling and mental health program.
