Thyroid eye disease is an inflammatory autoimmune disorder that affects the structures around the eye, expanding the fat and the muscles. It can cause dry eye, eyelid retraction, red eyes, bulging eyes and puffy eyes. Some people may experience double vision with the inability to move each eye fully. Since thyroid eye disease affects multiple areas of the eye and face and is affected by the body’s hormone and inflammatory status, we bring together a team of specialists to manage all aspects of your care.
