About Darwin Luke Roman, MD

Darwin Roman, MD, is a hematologist and medical oncologist at USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of Keck Medicine of USC. He joined Keck Medicine after completing his hematology-oncology fellowship at Los Angeles General, formerly known as Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center. Dr. Roman also completed advanced fellowship training at MD Anderson Cancer Center in leukemia, myelodysplastic syndrome, and myeloproliferative neoplasms. He now practices at Keck Medicine’s Newport Beach location, where he provides personalized and high-quality cutting-edge cancer care tailored to his patients’ individual needs.

Among the clinical treatments he offers are intravenous and oral chemotherapy, molecular and antibody targeted therapy, immunotherapy, combination therapy and multidisciplinary therapy. He works in coordination with colleagues in surgery and radiation oncology.

Dr. Roman has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications, focusing primarily on the evaluation and efficacy of cancer treatments, and he has presented original research at local, national and international meetings. His research interests include malignant hematology/leukemia and virtual reality implementation.

Dr. Roman grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Away from work, he enjoys basketball, tennis, golf, and sampling different cuisines. He roots for University of Oklahoma football and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
