About Janet S. Choi, MD
Janet S. Choi, MD, MPH, is a board-certified head and neck surgeon and a fellowship-trained otologist/neurotologist at Keck Medicine of USC, who specializes in treating ear-related disorders. Her expertise includes treating chronic ear disease, cholesteatoma, perforated eardrums, otosclerosis, vestibular disorders and lateral skull base tumors, such as acoustic neuromas/vestibular schwannomas and meningiomas. She evaluates patients for cochlear and osseointegrated implants, and is also certified in robotic-assisted cochlear implantation.
Her research interests focus on developing technology-based strategies to make medical and surgical hearing care options available to all individuals with hearing loss. Dr. Choi has authored more than 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters. She is regularly invited to present at national and international conferences.
She is inspired in her passion for treating patients with ear-related conditions by being a hearing aid user herself, having experienced left-sided conductive hearing loss since childhood.
Dr. Choi grew up in South Korea and Orange County, CA. In her free time, she enjoys exploring new cuisines, going on hiking adventures and snowboarding.
